If there’s one thing I love more than sleeping, it would be food – specifically brunch. Living in the heart of Los Angeles, I am beyond privileged with the amount of food spots around me. For this #FoodieFriday I am suggesting a quaint little brunch place in the Arts District – Zinc Cafe & Market.

The Arts District is known for creative wall murals and cute hole-in-the-wall restaurants that make the perfect Instagrams. Zinc is no exception. The ambiance here is absolutely amazing! Driving down the streets, you would never expect a place this elegant to exist. It’s like finding a Calvin Klein at a local thrift store.

Once you finally find street parking, embrace yourself for the quaintest little kitchen shop you’ve ever been to! It’s a little similar to Joan’s on Third but with a lot more space. I would recommend sitting outside on the porch if you get the chance! There’s something about brunching in the sun that makes food tastes so much better.

Speaking of food, let’s talk favorite dishes 🙂

Food

My favorite Asparagus Sandwich

One thing I really like about this place is that it’s very vegetarian friendly! I have tried going vegetarian a couple of times but just couldn’t find any good meatless places, at least until I found this place.

They are most known for their Asparagus Sandwich – as pictured above. “Toasted sourdough, cauliflower purée, asparagus spears, white cheddar cheese, a poached egg topped with toasted bread crumbs.” If that doesn’t sound like heaven on a plate, I don’t know what does!

Some other popular dishes include the Blanco Pizza and the Zinc Truffle Fries. The pricing for each item is fairly regular with a total of about $11-25 a person if you order food and a drink.

Overall, I would rate this place 4.5 stars because of the amazing food and the ambiance. The only negative thing I have to say is the parking situation but that pretty much applies to all places in LA. Be sure to check out this place for a date or just for a weekend brunch with the girls! You won’t be disappointed.
